Speed limit and version information.

Note that this model is the US version, marketed as the G3 - Global version - not to be confused with the EU model G3 E. Unlike the G3 E, this version has none built-in speed limiter to 25 km/h, not supplied unlocked and can reach up to 45 km/h at top speed. To increase the speed, you need to change the region in the app to the US via a VPN and adjust the settings in the Ninebot app - full instructions can be found in this video.

Power, range and smart technology in an electric scooter.

The Ninebot MAX G3 from Segway is the next step in the evolution of electric scooters - designed for those who want top-class power, comfort and technology. With a powerful motor of 850 W (max 2000 W) and a range of up to 80 km, this electric scooter is your perfect companion for both commuting and adventure. Combine that with advanced features like Apple Find My, automatic unlocking via app and dual hydraulic shock absorbers – and you have an electric scooter that not only takes you forward, but makes every trip an experience.

Long range for smooth commuting.

Ninebot MAX G3 has a built-in battery of 597 Wh and is equipped with Segway's own SegRange™ technology that optimizes energy use. The result? Up to 80 km range in Eco mode – enough for several days of commuting without having to think about recharging.

Explosive power that can handle any slope.

With a nominal motor power of 850 W and a maximum power of 2000 W, the MAX G3 can handle slopes of up to 30% - something few other electric scooters can match. The driving modes Eco, Drive, Sport and Sport+ give you full control over acceleration and battery consumption, so you can adapt your driving as needed.

Smooth driving with premium comfort.

Double hydraulic shock absorbers front and rear make you rush forward even on uneven roads. The 11-inch self-sealing tires with a built-in gel layer prevent punctures and provide both cushioning and traction. This means fewer interruptions and more driving pleasure – regardless of the surface.

High security in all situations.

MAX G3 takes security seriously. With double disc brakes front and rear, automatic 6W headlight, brake lights, turn signals and an IPX6 rating for water protection, you are ready to drive safely - even in the rain and in the dark. The disc brakes have double pistons and four brake pads for maximum braking power and heat dissipation.

Smart technology that simplifies your everyday life.

Thanks to the 2.4-inch TFT display, you always have full control of speed, battery status and driving mode. With the Segway Mobility app, you can unlock the scooter with your mobile (AirLock), track it via Apple Find My and update the firmware with one click. Battery health is monitored by the new BMS 2.0 system, which also lets you schedule charging and set your own charging limits.

Stability and control in every curve.

The self-developed SegRide™ system improves stability at high speeds, sharp turns and on slippery roads. The ergonomically designed handlebars, the anti-slip TCS system and a robust aluminum alloy frame (tested for 500,000 shock absorption cycles!) make the MAX G3 one of the most reliable electric scooters on the market.

Design that lasts.

Despite its powerful performance, the MAX G3 weighs only 24.6 kg, which makes it relatively light and easy to fold up and take with you. It also has a generous footrest of 20 cm in width, comfortable handle and practical hook for bags. Maximum load capacity is 130 kg – perfect for both adult commuters and teenagers with high demands.

Smart technology with app support and Apple Find My.

With Segway AirLock, you lock and unlock the scooter automatically based on your proximity. And would you lose it? Then you can track it directly in Apple's "Find My" app. Via the Segway app, you can also adjust settings, monitor battery status and much more. The app can be downloaded at App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.

Laws & regulations

Electric scooter
An electric scooter is considered a bicycle if it has a maximum speed of 20 km/h and a motor with no more than 250 W. However, it is important to note that the limit applies to the continuous (nominal) power - which means that the electric scooter can temporarily have a higher so-called peak power, for example up to 1000 W, as long as the nominal power does not exceed 250 W.

If the electric scooter exceeds 20 km/h in speed or has a motor with more than 250 W nominal power, different rules apply. The next classification is Moped class II and thereafter Moped class I. There are technical requirements, such as braking systems, that must be met for an electric scooter to be classified as a moped.

Essentially, if it reaches up to 25 km/h it is considered as Moped class II, while if the speed exceeds 40 km/h and the motor is stronger than 250 W, it is classified as Moped class I. For Moped Class I, an AM license is required, the vehicle must be registered, and a helmet must be worn. Moped class II requires a driver's license and mandatory use of a helmet. If the electric scooter does not meet the requirements for bicycle, moped class I or II it gets it not to be used on public roads.

Electric bike
For the requirements to apply to an electric bicycle, the motor must be limited to 250 W nominal (continuous) power and only assist the pedaling up to 25 km/h. This means that the engine can temporarily deliver a higher so-called peak power, for example up to 1000 W, as long as the nominal power does not exceed 250 W. The electric bicycle must also be pedaled for the motor to work - so it must not drive on its own without the user's pedaling power.

Deviation from these requirements results in the vehicle being classified as moped, which entails other technical requirements, mandatory registration, driver's license and insurance.

We strongly recommend the use of a helmet, especially if the driver is under the age of 15, although it is not mandatory.

Read our blog posts for more information about which rules apply around electric scooters and electric bikes.
