Product description
Product description
The Ausom K20 is the nimble electric scooter for everyday journeys.
The Ausom K20 is a folding electric scooter built for daily commuting in the city and its outskirts. With a single 1100 W peak-power motor, a 48V 13.5Ah battery and suspension at both ends, the Ausom K20 handles tarmac and gravelled cycle paths with equal ease. The frame is made of steel and folds in a few seconds, so the Ausom K20 fits in a car boot or beside your desk at the office. This is an electric scooter that combines range, comfort and keyless unlocking in a package that is easy to live with.
The motor in the Ausom K20 delivers steady power without fuss.
The Ausom K20 is driven by a rear hub motor with 1100 W of peak power and a stated torque of 26 Nm. That gives smooth, predictable acceleration from standstill and enough pull for most city hills – the manufacturer states a climbing ability of around 11 degrees. The Ausom K20 has three riding modes that you switch between directly on the display, so you can pick a gentle start in traffic and a firmer response on open stretches. From the factory the Ausom K20 is limited to 20 km/h. Without the speed limiter the manufacturer states a top speed of up to 45 km/h – always check what your local traffic rules allow before changing the setting.
The battery in the Ausom K20 covers a full week of commuting.
The Ausom K20 carries a 48V 13.5Ah lithium battery of 648 Wh that, according to the manufacturer, delivers up to 70 km of range on a single charge. Actual range varies with rider weight, riding mode, temperature, surface and how hard you accelerate, so treat the figure as a stated maximum under favourable conditions. The battery in the Ausom K20 is fixed in the chassis and monitored by a Smart BMS that keeps track of cell balance, temperature and charging current. For many regular riders that means the Ausom K20 only needs charging a couple of times a week.
Front and rear suspension makes the Ausom K20 comfortable on rough surfaces.
The Ausom K20 is fitted with suspension at both ends, with a sturdy front fork and an adjustable rear swingarm. The setup absorbs kerbs, joints and potholes before they reach the deck, which makes longer rides noticeably more pleasant. The deck on the Ausom K20 measures 520 x 185 mm and leaves plenty of room to shift your feet while riding. The handlebar is 720 mm wide, which gives stable control without taking up unnecessary space in traffic.
The brakes on the Ausom K20 combine mechanics and electronics.
The Ausom K20 has two disc brakes – one at the front and one at the rear – backed up by electronic E-ABS on the motor. The combination shortens the braking distance and reduces the risk of the wheels locking under hard braking on wet surfaces. The E-ABS system in the Ausom K20 works together with the disc brakes and gives a smoother braking action than purely mechanical brakes. The safety equipment also includes an electric horn and indicators, so you can signal your intentions clearly in traffic.
Pneumatic 10-inch tyres give the Ausom K20 good grip.
The Ausom K20 runs on pneumatic 10-inch tyres in tubeless form, which provide damping and grip that puncture-proof solid tyres cannot match. The air in the tyres absorbs the small vibrations from the tarmac and makes the ride quieter and smoother. The manufacturer recommends a tyre pressure of around 44–50 PSI for the Ausom K20 – check the pressure regularly for the best range and comfort. The tubeless construction also means a small puncture can often be sealed without removing the tyre.
Smart features make the Ausom K20 easy to unlock and keep track of.
The Ausom K20 starts with NFC – using one of the three NFC cards supplied, your phone's NFC function or a personal passcode on the display. That means you never have to keep track of a key to unlock the Ausom K20. According to the manufacturer's feature list, the Ausom K20 also supports Apple Find My for locating the scooter, RideyLONG technology for more efficient energy use and Anti-skid TCS, which counteracts wheel spin when setting off on slippery surfaces. The 4.5-inch LCD display shows speed, battery level and the selected riding mode at a glance.
The folding steel construction makes the Ausom K20 easy to bring along.
The Ausom K20 weighs 25.5 kg and measures 1170 x 720 x 1330 mm unfolded. With the stem folded down the height drops to around 515 mm, and a hook on the handlebar holds the Ausom K20 together so it can be carried or rolled alongside you. The steel frame is rated for a recommended maximum weight of 130 kg and suits riders between roughly 150 and 200 cm tall. That makes the Ausom K20 a realistic option if you combine an electric scooter with the bus, train or car.
All-round lighting and IP54 keep the Ausom K20 visible and durable.
The Ausom K20 has a front headlight, a rear light and ambient lighting that illuminates the deck and makes you more visible from the side. Indicators are part of the lighting package, which is unusual in this class and a clear advantage when riding after dark. The Ausom K20 is rated IP54, which means it withstands dust and splashes of rain in normal use. Even so, avoid riding the Ausom K20 through deep puddles and never wash it with a pressure washer.
Charging and included accessories for the Ausom K20.
The Ausom K20 charges from empty to full in a stated 7.5–8.5 hours using the supplied 54.6V 2A charger. In the box you will find, besides the Ausom K20 and the charger, a user manual, Allen keys in 2.5, 3 and 4 mm, a pair of gloves and three NFC cards. The Allen keys are all you need for the simple final assembly, so the Ausom K20 is ready to ride within minutes of unpacking. The extra NFC cards make it easy to share the Ausom K20 with someone else in the household.

Laws & rules
Laws & rules
Electric scooters (e-scooters)
Rules for e-scooters are not fully harmonised across the EU – each member state sets its own requirements. In most EU countries, e-scooters are limited to a top speed of 20–25 km/h for use on public roads, and some countries also require type approval, insurance or a minimum age. Models that exceed the national limits – for example with higher top speeds or stronger motors – may generally only be used on private property. Always check the current rules with the national transport authority in your country before riding on public roads.
Electric bikes (pedelecs)
Across the EU, an electric bike is treated as a regular bicycle if the motor has a maximum continuous rated power of 250 W, only assists while you pedal, and cuts out at 25 km/h (EU Regulation 168/2013 and EN 15194). Such pedelecs require no registration, licence or insurance. The motor may temporarily deliver a higher peak output, as long as the continuous rated power does not exceed 250 W.
Faster or more powerful models (such as speed pedelecs with assistance up to 45 km/h) are classified as mopeds (category L1e-B) and are subject to type approval, registration, insurance, helmet and licence requirements that vary by country. Models that do not meet these requirements may only be used on private property.
We strongly recommend wearing a helmet, even where it is not mandatory.
